It was a double celebration for sungura musician Alick Macheso’s former wife Fortunate ‘Tafadzwa’ Mapako on Thursday as she turned a year older on the day she received paternity test results.

As H-Metro indicated on Thursday, the results which were released on Wednesday confirmed that the two kids were fathered by Macheso.

Fortunate said she feels relieved following several accusations, which were leveled against her.

“It is painful that you are labeled a woman of loose morals to the whole nation. I feel happy and at the same time relieved following the outcome of the results,” she said.

The tests arose after the musician doubted paternity of the two children Alick Junior and Maneesha whom they sired during their four year union.

Tafadzwa said the fallout with Macheso followed her refusal to have the sungura musician perform his cultural practice of ‘Kutara’ on their daughter.
Tafadzwa Mapako holds the paternity results with her lawyer Gift Nyandoro
“I do not usually want to speak about that issue of ‘kutara’ I would leave it to the law enforcers to react.

“That is the main issue that led to the collapse of our marriage. I opposed to the practice on our daughter. As a mother I have a right to protect my children. Mwanamusikana hauzive kwazvinozosvika,” she said.

She said she told the musician that she would report him to the police if he insisted on the practice and to cover up, the musician rushed to his lawyers.

“I told him that I was going to report to the police and that is when all the problems started.”

Tafadzwa said she has moved on with her life but will not jump into any love affair anytime soon.

There were reports that she has since moved on with another man in Msasa Park, a claim she scoffed.

“I have since moved on with my life alone, without Macheso but I will not have a man in my life anytime soon. I’m not in a relationship with anyone and will not be in any in the near future. I respect my children. Daily, Alick Junior sees an advert of Nash Paints and points at him as his father, so having another man and introducing him to him will not be easy,” she said.

“I’m staying in Msasa Park with my family and you are free to visit not that I have another man,” she said.

H-Metro visited her Msasa Park home where her family was, with Alick Junior saying to her “Makorokoto mhama”.

Asked why she left her Mainway Meadows house she had been letting, Tafadzwa said, the decision was meant to minimise stigmatising her children.

She said the paternity tests will affect the children in future.

“The children are not going to crèche because of that. Even my daughter who was reported to be in Form 5 has since stopped going to school because of that,” she said.

Tafadzwa said being married to the musician as a second wife was a mistake in her life. She said even her own family was against the union.

“Being married to him as a second wife was a mistake. My family was never interested in the polygamous relationship. If you check, my family never spoke a word over our separation,” she said.

She said she has since forgiven the musician but ruled out any prospects of a reunion.
Macheso Wanted to Use His Manhood On Baby Daughter – Tafadzwa
“I have since forgiven him over his doubts on me. However, despite having children together, we will not get back together,” she said.

Speaking on her relationship with Macheso, Tafadzwa said she enjoyed her four-year union so much that she wonders if he is the one who went around badmouthing her.

She said the ‘kutara’ issue was the only problem that led to the collapse of their marriage.

“I enjoyed my marriage to Macheso. Everything was well between us. We differed on the issue of Kutara. He began showing me actions which I did not understand; ignoring me and the next thing was a letter from his lawyer.

“Initially I saw a newspaper article that I had been divorced and I went to his house to inquire what was happening and the next thing, the lawyer was writing to me,” she said.

“Macheso is a very quiet person and sometimes I wonder if all those words really came out of his mouth,” she said.

Commenting on her relationship with Macheso’s senior wife, Nyadzisai, Tafadzwa said everything was well between them.

“I think everything was well between us. We would share a lot and she is the one who would help me when I gave birth. Vana vaitoenda kumba kwake. I believe it was a genuine relationship, I do not know how she took it,” she said.

On Sharon Macheso, Tafadzwa said, “I understand her situation, munhu akaunzirwa mainini akura, so it will be hard for her to adjust and see me as a mother,” she said.

“I do not think I will be able to attend the wedding. I can’t,” she said.

Tafadzwa distanced herself from the alleged threats she was said to have made to the musician.

She also denied any links to the First family or ever blackmailing the musician.

She further denied ever been in the affairs of Macheso’s Orchestra Mberikwazvo.

Fortunate’s lawyer Gift Nyandoro of Hamunakwadi, Nyandoro and Nyambuya Law Chambers said:

“A lot of things have been said about our client. She has been portrayed to the whole country in bad light and currently we are waiting to get full instructions from our client to act legally.

“We cannot allow the Devil to run away with a Christian Bible from a Christian pulpit. We are going to act,” he said.-H-Metro

CHIVI - Dendera star Suluman Chimbetu and rising gospel artiste Mathias Mhere have donated building material worth thousands of dollars to a Chivi widow Elizabeth Sithole who lives in a pole and dagga hut with seven orphans.
The two popular musicians helped the Chivi Rural District Council to mobilise for the building material that will be used to construct a three bedroomed house and a big round hut in Madyangove Village in Chivi North.

The donated building material included doors, door frames, windows, cement, bricks, roofing materials and fencing wire.

Sulu told villagers who gathered to witness the handover of the building material last week that assisting disadvantaged people in Chivi North was their way of giving back to the community.

“In addition to entertaining people, we have a moral duty to assist members of our societies who are from the disadvantaged backgrounds. So as musician with my brother Mathias we teamed up with your local leaders in the council to help our mother here who did not have decent shelter,” Sulu said.

Sulu and Mhere have also pledged to avail school fees to the seven orphans being looked after by the widowed Sithole.
    Sulumani Chimbetu
Chivi Rural District Chairman, Killer Zivhu said his council had roped in local musicians to help raise resources needed to build decent houses for the underprivileged people in his district.

“We have some people who are struggling to have proper shelter who live under squalid conditions. Our council has teamed up with local musicians to mobilise resources to help them get decent accommodation.”

Zivhu added that his council had lined up a fund-raising concert to be held at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo on June 28 that will feature Tswana music sensation, Slizzer, Jah Prayzah and several other local musicians. Daily News

Quadricycles, which as the name suggest, were originally derived from motorcycles. They have emerged as a new class of sub-compact vehicles in Europe.

They are small and fuel-efficient. I have recently noticed several Universities here in the UK using street-legal quadricycles. These include the Club Car Villager 2+2 LSV, the Renault Twizy 80, the Tazzari ZERO and the Ligier IXO J LINE 4 Places

Their safety tests are different from other cars as they do not have to pass any of the rigorous crash tests to which cars are subjected. However, according to a recent report from the EURO NCAP, frontal and side impacts at 50km/h, revealed severe safety problems for all four cars.

The vehicles were scored primarily on data from crash dummies but penalties were also given for poor performance of the structure or restraints. The Ligier and the Tazzari had major failings of their restraint systems in the frontal test. In the Ligier, the upper connection of the driver’s seatbelt pulled out of the structure, leaving the dummy unrestrained and leading to a high risk of injury.

In the Tazzari, the driver seatbelt broke and the driver’s head hit the steering wheel with a force that indicated a high risk of serious or fatal injury. The structure of the Club Car virtually collapsed in the frontal impact. The Renault Twizy - the only vehicle of the four tested to have an airbag as standard - scored best but its stiff structure and restraint system resulted in some dangerously high dummy readings.

Musician Hosiah Chipanga, who is also Messiah Apostolic Prophetically Inspired People’s Institution Church (Mapipi) apostolic sect leader, has taken a swipe at Johannes Ndanga for his approach in banning Madzibaba Ishmael Mufani’s church.
Ndanga, who is Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe leader, recently visited Mufani’s shrine in Budiriro where he clashed with Madzibaba’s Mufani’s followers when he announced that the sect had been banned.

Chipanga said Ndanga was supposed to summon the church elders than visit them at the shrine.

“He (Ndanga) was supposed to summon the church leaders and explain the issue rather than humiliate them in front of their women and followers,” said Chipanga.
Hosiah Chipanga takes a dig at Ndanga
The “Kwachu Kwachu” singer said there was no need to take riot police to the shrine as if they knew violence was going to erupt.

“I don’t think it was a good idea to take the riot police to a shrine as if it was a place for hooligans.

“It explains why the followers reacted angrily because there were worshippers and not hooligans,” he said.

Chipanga said the probability that the police and Ndanga officials were beaten by God was high.

“They did not respect the shrine so we cannot dispute the fact that the congregants were inspired by God to beat them up,” said the outspoken musician.

Turning to his Mapipi church, Chipanga said he was still to register it before taking it across the country.

“Mine is underway and we are yet to register it with the ACCZ so that we can start crusades,” he said.

Chipanga formed his church in 2012 which never took off except for postings on social networks.

The controversial lyricist, described himself as Noah in one of his songs titled “Nharo” from his latest album “Mumweya”.

In the song, he encouraged people to learn something about the nature of God from the Noah and Ark story, including that God cannot tolerate sin and that sin will not go unpunished.

The four-track album features songs that include “Shoko RaMwari”, “Zimbabwe Ndeyemweya” and “Nharo”.

Chris Musabayana, the organiser of “Baba aSharo @46” birthday bash held over the weekend at Andy Millar Hall says despite Oliver Mtukudzi’s no show, he was still a happy man.
Mtukudzi was scheduled to perform at the gig to mark Alick Macheso’s 46th birthday but he failed to make it as he had other shows lined up in South Africa and Mozambique the same weekend.

“Look, Tuku didn’t owe me an apology. If he did apologise, he should have apologised to the people that he owed an apology.

Thanks but no thanks, Musabayana tells Tuku
“An apology is a virtue and I believe that Tuku is virtuous and thanks but no thanks. To be honest I sometimes shock myself because if you look at the show it’s been a success.

When I talk of success I don’t talk about the numbers but happiness and that’s what happened, people are happy,” Musabayana said.

Mtukudzi who was billed to perform alongside Suluman Chimbetu, Peter Moyo, Soul Jah Love, Progress Chipfumo and other musicians, apologised to Macheso just a day before the show.

“We wish Macheso all the best with the celebrations and apologise as we are unable to join him at Glamis due to unforeseen circumstances. We are, however, planning a show with Macheso and other musicians in August so that we can celebrate together,” Mtukudzi said.

Surprisingly, Mtukudzi had flown into Harare on Tuesday to perform at the European Council on Tourism and Trade Awards ceremony on Wednesday before jetting out shortly after the event.

The “Todii” singer flew to South Africa, en route to Mozambique where he had a number of studio dates and meetings that have had to be rescheduled several times.
Most people asked why Mtukudzi failed to turn up when the birthday show had been advertised a month in advance.

Others claimed the snub had nothing to do with Mtukudzi/Macheso relations but was a result of a long standing dispute between Musabayana and Mtukudzi.

This, the observers said, emanated from a previous sold out show organised by Musabayana in which Mtukudzi performed and was paid in full but then he later asked for a “top up” to which Musabayana refused.

Urban grooves star Rockford “Roki” Josphat has made yet another comeback on the music scene with a hit single titled “Number One”. Taken off his upcoming album “Bundu Boy”, the song is not only enjoying multiple spins on radio stations but has become an anthem on dance floors.
While the song has a Rhumba feel to it, Roki urged his fans not to classify his music as he was exploring different styles in the album.

“I am happy with the response the song is getting from different sectors. The Afro beat on the song should not draw people to classifying my music as I am not limiting myself to specific genres.
    Roki’s hit single making waves

“I don’t want to be labelled an urban grooves, rhumba or hip-hop artiste because what I’m doing is just music,” he said.

The song, which was released three weeks ago followed another single “I’ll Go Crazy” that features Mampi.

Roki spoke more on the album which he said was inspired by the legendary group Bundu Boys.

“The title of the album is inspired by the Bundu Boys who have always been an inspiration in my musical career. My roots stem from there because of my uncle Kenny Chatsvatsva who is one of the two surviving members of the group,” he said.

The upcoming offering is going to be Roki’s fourth album and through it, he aims to sell Zimbabwean music beyond our borders.

“There is variety on the album and with it I hope to take our music outside this country.

“This does not mean our local fans are not important but that I want Zimbabwean music to be enjoyed in other countries also,” he said.

“Bundu Boy” is expected to be out in a month.

Expectations of a platinum selling album are high from the musician who is known to turn everything he touches to gold, when he puts his mind to it that is.

Musician Desmond “Stunner” Chideme, who has gradually been losing ground on the local music terrain, is a happy man following his nomination for the 2014 African Muzik Magazine Awards.

Stunner has been nominated in the Best Male (Southern Africa) category alongside the likes of South African singer Khuli Chana as well as Slap Dee of Zambia. The local rappper said the nomination is a great achievement as it shows that he is in the right direction musically.
    Stunner on cloud nine
“I was really excited to be nominated and I am even more proud of myself considering the guys I’m up against,” said Stunner.
“The nomination tells me that whatever I am doing is just fine and the steps may be short but they are definitely in the right direction.”

The urban grooves singer whose songs such as “Team Hombe” and “Godo” were the youths anthem for some time said over the years he had been experimenting with different sounds but now believes he has found a unique style that would define his music.

“Over the years I have been experimenting with different sounds trying to find my ideal footing. Some of the sounds have not been successful while others made a mark but now I believe I have sounds which I can relate to as part of the Stunner brand and the nomination comes as an icing on the cake,” he said.

The singer has been in the music business for some time but his big breakthrough came with the 2006 hit “Team Hombe” which seems to have transformed both his fortunes and career.

The African Muzik Magazine awards are set to be held on July 26 in Richardson, Texas in the US. The awards are hugely based on votes from the general public and Zimbabwean music followers would be the major contributors to the musician’s performance at the awards.

"Jay definitely thinks that there was and may still be something romantic going on between Bey and Julius. He wanted to fire Julius last February, but Beyonce said- 'Julius isn't going anywhere'," said a source.

Despite being subject to numerous cheating rumours himself, Jay-Z is jealous of his wife's friendship with her bodyguard.

"They've spent a lot of time together behind closed doors. He's even stayed in her hotel room," added a source.
