The latest Euro NCAP safety test results for this year is out and the new Renault Espace (large MPV) as well as the Suzuki Vitara (supermini) has been awarded 5 stars. The later received points for its Autonomous Emergency Braking system (included in the rating scheme since last year).

Also included in the report published this month are the results for the Fiat 500X in the Small MPV category and the Mazda 2 in the Supermini category. Both cars were awarded 4 stars.

It is, of course, very early days yet and Sweden remain at the top of the favourites with the bookies, Italy's entry, which I would say is more likely to win, coming next.

Serbia, Cyprus and Georgia have seen pretty dramatic drops in their odds but they do still remain way out in the 200s or more!

Much depends who gets through the Semis. then the fun really starts as the acts will not only have been seen rehearsing live but also will have had to get some votes and we'll have a much better idea of how they'll do, with the notable exception of those through automatically. Those automatic finalists could well include the winner this year.

If the chart doesn't display as it should use this link instead.

HARARE – Gospel musician Mathias Mhere has conceded that the alleged adultery between his wife Susan Dzinamarira and his friend Gift Mahlupeka forced him to postpone his maiden tour of the United States (US).

The Favour singer, who was initially scheduled to begin his US tour on February 16, told the Daily News that he rescheduled the tour to give himself enough time to solve his marital problems.

“I have postponed the tour to end of April because it was not prudent for me to go ahead leaving my marriage in flames,” said Mhere.
Mathias Mhere
“Family is more important than everything after all. I wanted the dust to settle first before going on tour.”

A WhatsApp exchange between Dzinamarira and Mahlupeka convinced many Zimbabweans that the two were cheating, a view that was confirmed by Mhere himself.

But in a sensational turn of events, Mahlupeka claimed that the WhatsApp texts at the centre of the scandal were in fact penned by Mhere himself.

The Chimanimani-born Mahlupeka, who is also a gospel artiste, went on to release a song he claimed was meant to set the record straight and prove that the adultery saga was masterminded by Mhere to promote his latest album Glory to Glory.

But yesterday, without elaborating, Mhere said the sad episode was now water under the bridge.

“Like I told you recently, I no longer want to discuss my family matters in the press but all is now well between my wife and myself, that is why I am ready to resume my US tour,” said the Number Busy singer.

Despite the controversy that has dogged his life of late, Mhere is confident that the pending US tour will take his music career to the next level.

“Sadly, I have had to shelve the US tour twice due to pressing personal problems.

“Initially, I was supposed to tour the US in 2013 but I failed due to another personal issue which I later solved. I am now ready for the tour which I am sure will take me to a higher level,” Mhere elaborated.

“I am keen to use the US tour to market and promote my music in that country.”

The Gutu-born artiste rose to national prominence due to the success of his albums Anoita Minana and Nguva Yenyasha both produced by Lyton Studios.

Mhere’s latest album Glory to Glory was produced by Charles Aibeki, a former guitarist in gospel star Charles Charamba’s Fishers of Men.

According to Mhere, the latest album has reportedly sold more than 10 000 copies within a month. Daily News

HARARE – President Robert Mugabe has managed to stay in power because of an intricate web of strategists and informers that he pits against one another for his own benefit, Senior party members revealed to The Zimbabwean this week.

The astute leader did not rely on a core team of advisors but surrounded himself with a broad group of people in order to get as much information as he can before making his decisions, they said.

“There are several layers of clandestine strategists, informers and advisors. He tasks them to do similar and different jobs simultaneously and carefully sieves through their verbal and written reports before making a decision.
President Robert Mugabe
“Each layer is not aware of the others. Depending on the sensitivity of what he wants, the president can dispatch as many as six teams or core resource persons to investigate and research on something. Mostly, if not always, these teams or individuals are not aware of what the others would be doing,” said one of the high ranking sources.

Sending many people unknown to one another to carry out a single task gives Mugabe space to make an informed and strategic decision, he added. The teams are formed from his close security unit, national intelligence, political experts, staff from the office of the president and cabinet, the securocrats, parastatals, party officials and sometimes relatives and colleagues who are not active members in Zanu (PF) or employees of government.

Once in a while, Mugabe also sought help from trusted non-Zimbabweans who are experts in different fields, but he always took care to ensure there was at least one counterintelligence team or individual to ensure that he was not misled.

“President Mugabe often tells his sources that they have lied to him and proceeds to point out things that he would not have known on his own. But there are also cases when he deliberately accepts misrepresentations for as long as they serve his own interests,” said another senior party member.

In other cases, he pretends he is not aware of what some party members are plotting, waiting for an opportune moment to reveal the secret.

However, despite this reliance on clandestine informants and advisors, Mugabe has missed it in many cases. It would be expected that the numerous layers of strategists, sources and advisors would guarantee that he gets accurate information all the time.

“His advisors have come to know what he expects and they are not too keen to anger him by telling him the truth. In that case, they panel beat their reports to suit with what he expects. A good example is the elections between 2000 and 2008. Many of them knew that the tide had turned against him but they were too scared to tell that he was no longer popular. As a result, they would always report to him that the people were still with him,” said the source.

While the informants and advisors are aware that there are counter missions in the tasks they are given by the president, they have largely failed to identify the faces behind them, said the sources.

As a result, they proceed cautiously and do not know who to trust or confide in. This uncertainty has forced them to tell Mugabe what he wants to hear in order to secure their positions and interests.

“He knows of the crimes and other shenanigans that all the key members of the party might be guilty of, courtesy of his web of informants,” said one source.

Mugabe has publicly claimed that he was all along aware of Joice Mujuru’s plans to take over power from him. He has used factional fights in his party to maintain a hold on power.

In 2004, he made Mujuru his deputy after changing the constitution when her faction then led by her husband, Solomon, informed him about the clandestine Tsholotsho meeting to strategise on how Emmerson Mnangagwa could succeed him.

Ten years later, in 2014, he changed his favour to the Mnangagwa faction, which claimed that Mujuru was out to topple him. Analysts say Mugabe might be telling the truth that he was aware of Mujuru’s succession plan, or simply saw an opportunity to remain in power by siding with Mnangagwa. The Zimbabwean

Days After Amber Rose Displays Her Love For Wiz Khalifa On Instagram, She Is Spotted With Another Man. Which might mean absolutely nothing. But the foreign media is going wild, because photos of Amber Rose and a man enjoying a sport together at the Staples Center, surfaced.

A few days ago, Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose spent good time together with their son Sebastian at Tamar Braxton’s Easter party and that got a lot of people talking and hoping they would work things out.

However, Amber was spotted with another man just days later.

Well according to Grazia magazine, Princess Rih and King Bey are not each other’s fans and what’s more? This is because of Rihanna’s mentor and Beyonce’s husband of seven years, JayZ.

Apparently, there is a source that claims JayZ has a private phone (among other private phones) that he uses specifically to call Riri. This phone should normally help with business phone calls between the two but this source has gone ahead to claim that both do more than business when they holla at each other.
Remember The JayZ and Solange Elevator Fight? Rihanna Might Just Be Responsible
JayZ apparently excuses himself from meetings to go receive calls from Rihanna privately and Beyonce found out which led to a lot of argument and fighting.

And no, this is not even bizarre yet, it gets worse.

This situation is supposedly the reason Beyonce’s baby sis, Solange, kicked Jayz hard in the elevator in a video that became one of the most popular videos last year.

Quite interesting don’t you think? But also very contrived.

Whatever the case may be, the Carters seem happy and Beyonce gave her hubby the best present ever just a few days ago so this story might as well be BS.
Another day, another source for inside gist in Hollywood.

JOEL Mujuru, elder brother of the late Retired General Solomon Mujuru, yesterday dismissed reports that his younger brother sired about 90 children with different women, saying the family was only aware of nine children from three wives including the former Vice-President Joice Teurai Ropa Mujuru.

Joel described all the other women and children who were now emerging from the woods seeking to claim a stake in the late army commander and national hero's estate as "street kids and gold diggers" seeking to reap where they did not sow.

Mujuru died mysteriously in an inferno at his Beatrice farm in 2011. His multi-million-dollar estate has not yet been distributed and is currently at the centre of a fierce fight with several beneficiaries and claimants, among them Joice and her five children, lining up for a share of the spoils.

Latest on General Solomon Mujuru's 90 children with different women.
His official wives, according to Joel, were Joice, the late Simbiso — who had two children — and another woman he only identified as "Maidei's mother".

His vast business empire included mining and farming ventures.

But Joel said what was disturbing and suspicious was that several children were now surfacing at the courts before they introduced themselves to him, the only known surviving elder brother of the deceased.

"The rest who now claim to be Solomon's children are street kids who are after his wealth," Joel said.

"What kind of children are they who appear at the courts without even coming to see their father's relatives? We like Solomon's children, but those we don't know should go for paternity tests first before we can accept them. Where were they when Solomon was still alive?"

The family is currently embroiled in a war over the estate, with many children surfacing at the High Court to claim their share of the vast empire amid reports that the former Vice-President had hidden her late husband's will to deny other children born out of wedlock their share of the inheritance.

When the family met at the High Court recently to choose an executor, about 20 children were reportedly named as the late General's children.

Some of them claimed that the former VP had changed ownership of some properties and demanded an audit of "their" father's estate before it was distributed.

But Joel said his brother's estate was still intact.

"If they want to know about Solomon's estate, they should ask us. They should only go to the courts if there is a dispute. I am not supporting Teurai, but we cannot ignore her, she is Solomon's wife. After all, as the Mujuru family, we don't want anything from Solomon's estate. It should be shared by his wives and children. But those that emerge now should go for paternity tests first," Joel said.

He added: "I want everyone — including Teurai — to know that we don't need anything from Solomon's estate. If Teurai also thinks that we want her husband's wealth, she is mistaken."

Meanwhile, former Zanu PF spokesperson Rugare Gumbo said the Zanu PF national disciplinary committee's report which implicated the late General Mujuru in a plot with his wife Joice to oust President Robert Mugabe as way back as 2004 was a desperate attempt to besmirchthe former VP.

Mujuru was recalled from her VP post and Zanu PF position in December, and summarily expelled from the party last week for allegedly plotting to kill Mugabe.

"For them to now say the late General was plotting to kill the President, and yet they buried him at the National Heroes' Acre, shows a desperate attempt to find fault in his wife. Why were they quiet all along and say it only when he is dead and punish his wife for that?" Gumbo queried.

Gumbo, Mujuru and former Zanu PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa were expelled from the party for allegedly plotting against Mugabe.

CHITUNGWIZA – Zimdancehall singer and producer Dr Clarence lost an e-machines laptop and Internet dongle to daring thieves who broke into his Chitungwiza home on Sunday in the evening.

A furious Dr Clarence told Nehanda Radio the police had released one of the suspects on the basis that he was 17 years old. All in all he identified six suspects including Tracy, Joseph, Amos, Murehwa and Thomas from Nhanga Street.

He claimed Amos and Murehwa were wanted criminals and the group had used a taxi driver called Munya for their gateway on the day they stole his laptop.
Zim's leading music producer Dr Clarence loses laptop to thieves.
“The police did not investigate all the accomplices so 48 hours came to pass. She (Tracy) is my next door neighbour, another (Amos) is from the street behind and the other two (Amos and Murehwa) are wanted criminals.”

“The Police where on Easter, no investigations to this day. They deliberately let one suspect escape when they had an AK 47. This was when they finally came to the crime scene. The quick response was to do one and a half hours of paperwork.

“They chose paperwork instead of going on the ground, no sniffer dogs where called in and out of my own personal resources I managed to get fingerprints with the help of a few patriotic citizens.

“The police then released my other suspect saying he is 17, so does this mean juveniles should just steal other people’s property. Maybe the juvenile court is closed,” Dr Clarence fumed.

“The Police should compensate my fuel which I used to attend the crime scene, sleepless nights doing their job. Now I’m hearing the last suspect has been released yet she is supposed to be released through the courts.”

Dr Clarence said the thieves broke into his home using the front door and exited via the kitchen door since the key was inside.

“These criminals think my machines are the secret to my quality of work. What I’m most concerned about are my engineering designs for my machines.”

“The police destroy evidence and let suspects escape. They actually seem to be working with the thieves and you can’t even trust the police with information on the case. I even saw that one of the police officers had the number of one of the suspects (Tracy) saved on his phone, suggesting they know each other.”
